<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device for a bicycle, suppressing the variation of braking force due to the temperature rise of a brake and developing great braking torque with a small diameter. SOLUTION: The brake device 13f for braking a wheel hub mounted on a frame of the bicycle comprises a fixed bracket 30f, a brake drum 40, a brake shoe 42, and a brake operation part 33f. The fixed bracket is non-rotatably mounted on a front fork 3. The brake drum is integrally rotatable with the hub 6a, and is formed in a cylindrical shape with a braking surface 51a sectionally recessed in the radial direction and formed on the inner periphery. The brake shoe has a contact face 42a protruded to be contactable with the braking surface of the braking drum, is rotatable with the fixed bracket and gives breaking operation to the brake drum. The brake operation part is movably provided on the fixed bracket for putting the bake shoe in compression contact with the brake drum side.</p> |
