PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide color photographic sensitive material having satisfactory coloring properties and excellent in raw stock preservability and to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: The silver halide color photographic sensitive material contains a color developing agent of formula (I) and a coupler of formula (II). In the formulae, R1 -R3 are each cyano, alkyl or arylsulfonyl, at least one of R1 -R3 is alkyl having -CO2 H, -SO3 H, phenolic hydroxyl or the like or arylsulfonyl; Z is carbamoyl, acyl, sulfonyl, sulfamoyl, oxycarbonyl, amidino, imidoyl or phosphoryl; and R6 is a substituent having a Hammett's substituent constantσp of >=0.1.
