PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition for a flooring material which hardly incurs the risk of harming the environment because it is water-based, and is excellent in freeze-thaw stability and initial holding properties of a flooring material and applicable to various flooring materials such as vinyl flooring sheets, vinyl flooring tiles and the like. SOLUTION: The adhesive composition for a flooring material comprises (a) an aqueous dispersion of an acrylic resin obtained from monomers mainly composed of an alkyl acrylate and/or an alkyl methacrylate, (b) a tackifier, (c) a compound represented by R<1> -O-CHR<2> -CH2 -O)n -H (wherein n is at least 2; when n is 2, R<1> is any one of 3-10C alkyl groups and R<2> is a hydrogen atom or any one of 1-4C alkyl groups; and when n is 3 or more, R<1> is a hydrogen atom or any one of 1-10C alkyl groups and R<2> is a hydrogen atom or any one of 1-4C alkyl groups) and (d) a filler.
