PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dry a board material effectively which is produced by pressure molding a mixture of paper chips and a bonding agent and contains a large amount of water. SOLUTION: A molded board material set on a frame is heated by sending a dry heated air into a furnace 20 after hating air sucked through a blower 4a and return steam by a dryer 4b. The molded board material is also heated by a heater 7. Steam generated in a large amount is discharged through a exhaust duct 13. A part of steam is discharged through an upper exhaust outlet 12 and another part of steam is returned to the blower 4b through pipes 10 and 10a. An amount of the return steam is mainly controlled by dumpers disposed on the exhaust outlet 12 and an air inlet 11. Moisture in the return steam is removed by a moisture separating cyclone 21 interposed in the pipes 10 and 10a.
