PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obtuse-angled retaining wall of a new structural type and a construction method therefor. SOLUTION: This obtuse-angled retaining wall, which is composed of a wall body 2 and a base 3, is characterized in that an interior angle of approximately 120 degrees is formed with the base 3 by the wall body 2. In the retaining wall, a main reinforcement 93 can be arranged nearly in the center of cross sections of the wall body 2 and the base 3. The construction method for the retaining wall is characterized as follows: a slope 81 is formed to construct the base 3 in such a manner that the base 3 is made lower as becoming more distant in the direction of the base 3 from a position in which the wall body 2 is to be constructed; the base 3 is constructed on the slope 81; the wall body 2 is constructed at an upper end of the base 3; and the base 3 is backfilled.
