PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily manufactured optical fiber array and a method for manufacturing the optical fiber array. SOLUTION: The optical fiber array has at least a Si substrate 10 on which a group of V-shaped grooves 12 extending in parallel on at least one side of faces are formed by etching and an optical fibers 20 arranged in each of the V-shaped grooves 12'. The Si substrate 10 has a guiding structure 16 which prevents the detachment of the optical fibers 20 from the V-shaped grooves on both sides of the group of the V-shaped grooves 12.
