PURPOSE: An apparatus for cooling heat treatment system for wire rod is provided shorten cooling time of wire rod and reduce annealing operation time as a whole accordingly by improving structure of the cooling apparatus. CONSTITUTION: In a heat treatment system for wire rod comprising a heating apparatus for heating cold rolled wire rod and a cooling apparatus for cooling the wire rod that is heated through the heating apparatus, the apparatus(20) for cooling the heat treatment system for wire rod comprises an inner pipe(21) that is extended to a certain length so that the wire rod (A) passes through the inner pipe(21); an outer pipe(22) into which the inner pipe(21) is longitudinally received so as to form a sealed cooling space(23) between the inner circumferential surface of the outer pipe(22) and the outer circumferential surface of the inner pipe(21); and a gas supply pipe(26) that is connected to the outer pipe(22) to supply cooling gas into the cooling space(23), and a gas recovery pipe(27) for recovering gas completing heat exchange operation, wherein a heat exchange fin(24) is installed along the outer circumference of the inner pipe(21) to increase heat exchange area with cooling gas, a plurality of gas supply nozzles(28) are arranged on the outer pipe(22) with spaced apart from each other in a certain distance, the gas supply nozzles(28) are connected to the gas supply pipe(26) through branch pipes(29), the gas supply pipe(26) is connected to the outlet side of a condenser of refrigerating cycle while the gas recovery pipe(27) is connected to the inlet side of a compressor of refrigerating cycle, and the cooling gas is nitrogen gas.
