PURPOSE: An organic electroluminescence device is provided to lengthen the useful life of the device and achieve improved stability of the device by suppressing the diffusion of the cathode electrode material. CONSTITUTION: An organic electroluminescence device comprises a substrate(100); a transparent anode electrode formed at the rear surface of the substrate; an organic emitting layer(500) made of an organic material and formed on the anode electrode; a cathode electrode formed on the organic emitting layer; and an electromigration-resistant layer(800) formed on the organic emitting layer, and which suppresses the diffusion of the cathode electrode material. The electromigration-resistant layer is made of a material having a high melting point and a low diffusion ability.
