PURPOSE: To increase the contact area between a display electrode and a gas discharge tube without forming the electrode in the gas discharge tube. CONSTITUTION: The display device consists of a slender display tube enclosing a discharge gas inside and having a phosphor layer, a support body supporting the display tube in contact with the display tube, and a plurality of electrodes disposed on the opposite side of the display tube of the support body for making a display by applying the voltage to the display tube from outside and generating the discharge inside the display tube. The support body is shaped to fit to the display tube so that the electrodes are brought into contact with the display tube along the surface shape of the display tube. |
