PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester resin foam which is excellent in foam properties, insulating characteristics, or the like, further does not cause a toxic substance by biodegradation, and is easily degradable in the natural environment. SOLUTION: This aliphatic polyester resin extruded foam is obtained by condensing, in the presence of a germanium catalyst, 0.02-30 mole% of an aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid unit represented by the formula (I): O-R<1> -CO (wherein R<1> is a bivalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group), 35-49.99 mole% of an aliphatic diol unit represented by the formula (II): O-R<2> -O (wherein R<2> is a bivalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group, which may contain an oxygen atom in the chain), and 35-49.99 mole% of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid unit represented by the formula (III): OC-(R<3> )n -CO (wherein R<3> is a bivalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group; and (n) is 0 or 1) as essential components to obtain an aliphatic polyester copolymer having a number-average molecular weight of 10,000-200,000, and extrusion foaming the copolymer containing a foaming agent. |
