PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffusion transfer type silver halide color photographic sensitive material having satisfactory coloring properties and spreadability and forming a color image of excellent image quality and to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: The diffusion transfer type silver halide color photographic sensitive material contains a color developing agent of formula (1) and a diffusible dye forming coupler of formula (2) in a hydrophilic colloidal layer disposed on a support. The image forming method uses the sensitive material. In the formula (1), Cαis a carbon atom; Z is carbamoyl, acyl, alkyloxycarbonyl or aryloxycarbonyl; and Q is a group of atoms forming an unsaturated ring together with Cα. In the formula (2), EWG is cyano, carbamoyl, alkyloxycarbonyl, aryloxycarbonyl, acyl or a specified aromatic heterocyclic group; R1 is alkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, aryl or amino; R2 is a substituent; R3 and R4 are each H, alkyl or aryl; and (n) is 0-4; but at least one of R1 and R2 is a diffusion resistant group.
