PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate fiber which has excellent conjugate component peeling resistance, processability, dyeability and gloss. SOLUTION: This conjugate fiber which comprises a sea component comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymer having an ethylene content of 25 to 70 mol.% and an island component comprising a thermoplastic polymer having a melting point of >=160 deg.C is characterized by having >=10 islands each having a flat shape represented by a longest diameter (L)/shortest diameter (D) ratio of >=1.5, arranging the island component in a circular conjugate cross- sectional form, and having in the conjugate cross section an island component total outer peripheral length (L2 )/conjugate outer peripheral length (L1 ) ratio satisfying the following expression (1): <=1.6<=X/C (1) [X is an island component outer peripheral length (L2 )/conjugate fiber outer peripheral length (L1 ) ratio (L2 /L1 ); C is the weight conjugate ratio of the island component, when the conjugate fiber is totally 1.
