PURPOSE: A backup element of a PCB(printed circuit board) of a surface mounting apparatus is provided to prevent a backup pin from damaging to the PCB and the PCB from drooping. CONSTITUTION: A backup element of a PCB of a surface mounting apparatus comprises a stationary shaft(111), a coupling element(112), and a backup shaft(113). One end of the stationary shaft(111) is mounted on a flat surface of a backup plate of a PCB transferring device and the other end of the stationary shaft(111) forms an entangling surface(111a). One end of the coupling element(112) is mounted inside the stationary shaft(111) and the other end of the coupling element(112) forms an entangling surface(112a). The backup shaft(113) passes through the coupling element(112) to be mounted at one end of the stationary shaft(111) and forms a backup pin(114). A ball(115) is assembled at the end of the backup pin(114).
