PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of the reactivity for steam reforming reaction by improving the resistance against a sulfur component contained in many organic raw materials and poisonous to a reforming catalyst. SOLUTION: The hydrogen formation apparatus is provided with a raw material supply section 4 for supplying the raw material containing a sulfur component and comprising organic compounds, a water supply section 5 for water, a reforming section 1 provided with a reforming catalyst for reacting the raw material with water and forming gaseous hydrogen and a carbon monoxide removing part 6 for reducing the content of carbon monoxide in the gaseous hydrogen formed in the reforming section, wherein the reforming catalyst comprises platinum and a carrier comprising a metal oxide. |
