HOLOGRAM REFLECTOR AND REFLECTION LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME MOUNTED THEREON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram reflector suitable to realize such a reflection liquid crystal display device with low consumption of electric power in which the display light is visible without using an illumination light source housed in the device as a supplementary means even under the condition of little ambient light (or a hologram reflector which prevents a problem of yellowish display light caused by a hologram reflector using a volume phase transmission type hologram under the condition of sufficient ambient light and which realizes nearly white display light), and to provide a liquid crystal display device using the above reflector. SOLUTION: A material having a photoluminescent function under the condition of sufficient ambient light and having a self light emitting function under the condition of little ambient light (the material is a photoluminescent material) is incorporated into any part of the hologram reflector.
