PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucent semi-reflective polarizer in which a system to improve luminance including a reflection type polarizer is used and the visibility is improved, and to apply the polarizer to a light source device of polarized light and to a translucent semi-reflective liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The translucent semi-reflective polarizer 12 comprises a polymer film 21 having a rugged pattern on at least one surface, a reflection polarizer 25 and a dichroic polarizer 26 stacked in this order along the same optical path. Alternatively, the translucent semi-reflective polarizer comprises a polymer film having a high reflectance layer made of a metal compound formed on one surface, a reflection polarizer and a dichroic polarizer stacked in this order. A light source device 61 is disposed on the polymer film 21 side of the translucent semi-reflective polarizer 12 to constitute the light source device 64 of polarized light. Further, a liquid crystal cell 30 and a front dichroic polarizer 41 are disposed on the translucent semi-reflective polarizer 12 side of the light source device 64 of polarized light to constitute the translucent semi-reflective liquid crystal display device 67. |
