PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for advantageously producing a benzyl carboxylate in a good yield under mild reaction conditions. SOLUTION: This method for producing a benzyl carboxylate comprises reacting a dibenzyl ether with a carboxylic acid and/or a carboxylic anhydride in the presence of one or more acids, preferably one acid, carried on a carrier as a catalyst.
