PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the detection error of a paper size even in the condition of a drawer type hand tray being not drawn to the maximum length. SOLUTION: An actuator 203 provided on the side of a drawer portion 201 of a hand tray 34 drawable step by step for detecting the paper size after floatation on the hand tray 34 with the drawing of the drawer portion 201 is prevented from floating until the drawer portion 201 is drawn and the hand tray 34 gets to the maximum length. Since the actuator 203 is prevented from floating until the hand tray 34 gets to the maximum length, the detection error of the recording paper size due to response to recording paper placed in the stage before the hand tray 34 gets to the maximum length is prevented.
