摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make sure that a process for hand wheel position tracking is very robust against a hand wheel position sensor trouble and not further complicated from a point of a software over head. SOLUTION: An absolute hand wheel position tracking system 10 for an electric power steering system is provided with a hand wheel position initializing function 12 responsive to the hand wheel, a motor position correction and a scaling function 16 responsive to a motor position sensor and responsive to an assist torque, an enable function 14 responsive to the assist torque and responsive to hand wheel position initializing function, and an absolute hand wheel position generating function 18 is signal communicating with the hand wheel position initializing function, the motor position correction and scaling function, and the enable function.
