PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method and a related device for producing a composite yarn by blending a filament in view of the fact that, in a conventional spinning machine, a roving cannot be wound on a filament of synthetic fiber. SOLUTION: This device works as follows: a filament 13 of synthetic fiber unwound off a filament bobbin 12 is passed, via a guide roller 14, in between a front bottom roller 6 and a front top roller 7, and then wound, via a guide 15, under unidirectional twisting, by the aid of a traveler 17 rotating along a ring 16, on a filament winding bobbin 18; concurrently, on driving a 1st driving unit 10 in a short time, a roving 20 unwound in a short time off a roving bobbin 19 is wound on the filament 13 under unidirectional twisting, thus producing the objective filament 21, i.e., a composite yarn, where portions entangled with a slub 22 are partially puffed.
