PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barium sulfate X-ray contrast agent having a good adhering property to the digestive tract and also capable of being made as a low viscosity. SOLUTION: This barium sulfate X-ray contrast agent contains barium sulfate particles coated with a suspending agent which can be pharmacologically administered orally. The form of the contrast agent can be either a powder state or sol state.
