PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment agent for a permanent wave giving a small load to the hair, preventing the hair from damage and capable of obtaining a good wave and a method for forming the permanent wave by using the same agent. SOLUTION: This treatment agent for the permanent wave contains a protein- decomposed material and/or derivative of the protein-decomposed material, a thiol-based reducing agent and a disulfide as essential components.
