PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a heat-shrinkable polyester film which has excellent shrinkage characteristics in a wide temperature region from a low temperature to a high temperature, scarcely suffers the occurrence of whitening due to shrinkage, blotches due to shrinkage, a wrinkle, a strain, a longitudinal sink mark, or the like, is excellent in breakage resistance and solvent bonding capability, and is suitable for application to labels. SOLUTION: This heat-shrinkable polyester film comprises the one in which a 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol component accounts for 10-50 mol% of its polyhydric alcohol component, of which a specimen cut into a square of 10 cm×10 cm has a heat shrinkage of 20% or greater in the direction of maximum shrinkage when dipped in hot water at 85 deg.C for 10 sec, withdrawn therefrom, and then dipped in water at 25 deg.C for 10 sec and withdrawn therefrom, and which has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.66 dl/g or higher. |
