PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base for an electrophotographic photoreceptor free of image defects in copying and the electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The base for the electrophotographic photoreceptor which is an electrophotographic aluminum base having a photosensitive layer on a surface, in which the size of the flaws existing on the surface of the base is <=5 (μm) in the maximum length and the electrophotographic photoreceptor constituted by forming the photosensitive layer on this base for the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
