PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect conditions of a driver correctly without depending on traveling environments. SOLUTION: This driver condition detecting device is provided with visual axis direction detecting means 1 and visual axis direction frequency determining means 2 to measure frequency of visual axis directions of the driver, a driving operation quantity measuring means 3 to detect driving operation quantity by the driver, a traveling environment detecting means 4 to detect the traveling environments around the driver and a vehicle, a driver condition detecting parameter setting means 5 to set driver condition detecting parameters based on the traveling environments, and a driver condition detecting means 6 to detect driver conditions by operation processes using the driver condition detecting parameters set by the driver condition detecting parameter setting means 5.
