PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capper with which a uniform screwed state of a cap is readily obtained, it is easy to change the screwed state when replacing the cap and/or a container, and further it is easy to control screwing time. SOLUTION: The servo motor driving capper comprises a servo motor for driving to rotate a cap holding head having a chuck formed in approximately the same form as a cap and a lift mechanism for raising/lowering the cap holding head. The servo motor driving capper has the lift mechanism comprising a pressurizing member which is inserted into the cap holding head when the head is at a raised position and drawn out of the head when the head is at a lowered position.
