PURPOSE: A reducing device and method for fuel consumption ratio of vehicle is provided to correct the inefficient driving habit and more effectively reduce the fuel consumption by recognizing the fuel injection method and selecting the fuel injection method according to the judgment of a driver. CONSTITUTION: A reducing device for fuel consumption ratio comprises a throttle sensor(10) installed at a throttle valve which mixes an air inhaled from an engine(E) and in which fuel flowed from an injector(50) and measuring the opening rate of the throttle valve, an injector operation sensor(60) detecting that the injector supplying fuel is operated, an input part(30) for air fuel ratio mode detecting a signal respondent to the manipulation of a driver, controller(20) selecting a fuel injection method by signals from the throttle sensor, the input part, and the injector operation sensor, and an indicator display part(40) informing information, such as fuel injection method, to the driver according to the signal selected at the controller.
