PURPOSE: To enhance the reliability by preventing separation even in a long liquid jet recording head of a side shooter type. CONSTITUTION: A substrate 2 where heating resistors are set and an orifice plate 5 where discharge openings 6 corresponding to heating resistors are set are joined to each other, whereby ink channels are formed between. Ink supplied from an ink supply port 7 to the ink channels is heated and foamed by heating resistors, and jetted from discharge openings 6 in a direction perpendicular to faces of the substrate 2 and the orifice plate 5. The orifice plate 5 is separated to the inside and the outside by a groove 9 formed to surround the outside of the ink channels. Side walls of the groove 9, namely, edges in contact with the groove 9 of the orifice plate 5 are serrated having many minute recesses and projections.
