PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous filter having a relatively simple structure, high separation performance and filtration ability and little deterioration in the filtration performance with time and to provide a water purifying device equipped with the filter and a method for manufacturing the filter. SOLUTION: The porous filter 1 has a large number of passages 3 penetrating from the one end face 41 to the other end face 43. Specified passages 3a continuously arranged next to one another along lines on the one end face 41 are sealed while the rest of the passages 3b are sealed on the other end face 43. The method for manufacturing the porous filter 1 includes (A) a process of molding a source material of the porous filter body, (B) a process of calcining the molded source material to form the base body of the porous filter, (C) a process of depositing membranes on the porous filter and (D) a process of sealing the passages on the end faces of the porous filter.
