[Also in Group XXX] A shovel, lift fork or platform-carrying boom 5 is mounted for rotation about the axis of the boom in a bracket 6 mounted for rotation about an axis at right angles to that of the boom in the arms 8 of a U-shaped structure that in turn is mounted at 1 on a mobile chassis 2 for rotation about an axis at right angles to the second axis. The bracket 6 is rotated about the second axis by a jack 19 pivotally connected to lugs 17, 18 on the U-shaped structure and bracket 6. The U-shaped structure is rotated about the third axis by power drive worm gearing 14, 15. A drive 9, 10, 13a, 13 is taken from the worm 14 to a worm wheel 7 on the boom to rotate the boom an equal amount in the opposite direction to that which the U-shaped structure is turned. |
