PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiation system capable of efficiently preventing the excessive rising of the temperature of a product, and an ultraviolet irradiation method using the same. SOLUTION: The detection part 6a of a temperature sensor 6 is preliminarily positioned and arranged to the passing part of the product 8 in an ultraviolet irradiation chamber 3 and the feed of the product 8 is once stopped or the number of rotations of a cooling fan 5 is controlled on the basis of the temperature in the ultraviolet irradiation chamber 3 detected by the temperature sensor 6 to prevent the overheating of the product 8.
