PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner capable of accurately cleaning an optional area. SOLUTION: A remote control can control movement of a body case 2 distantly from the body case 2. The body case 2 is moved to an optional point of a floor face to be cleaned by the remote control 30 while it is moved on the basis of a preset operation. The optional point of floor face can accurately be cleaned. It may be provided with an infrared ray sensor detecting information of a periphery. The body case 2 is moved to the optional point of the floor face by the remote control while it is moved on the basis of an operation by information from the infrared ray sensor. The optional point of the floor face can be accurately cleaned.
