PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fructosyl amino acid oxidase useful as a clinical diagnostic enzyme, a gene encoding the enzyme and a method for producing the enzyme. SOLUTION: The new fructosyl amino acid oxidase, fructosy lamino acid oxidase containing a specific amino acid sequence, fructosyl amino acid oxidase gene encoding the enzyme, recombinant vector containing the enzyme, transformed body containing the recombinant vector and method for producing the fructosyl amino acid oxidase are provided. The fructosyl amino acid oxidase has the following characteristics. (a) Action and substrate specificity: The enzyme catalyzes a reaction oxidizing imino diacetic acid or its derivatives in the presence of oxygen to produce glyoxalic acid or an α-ketoaldehyde, an α-amino acid and hydrogen peroxide. But it dose not act on ε-fructosyllysine. |
