PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make automatic operation of rice cleaning and cleaning of a rice cleaning tank possible by metering the polished rice of a water storage tank disposed in the upper part of the rice cleaning tank, performing optimum rotation of an agitating rod and jetting of air bubbles in a rice cleaning stroke and an immersing stroke in succession thereto when the polished rice is thrown down to the rice cleaning tank 2 and cleaning the rice cleaning tank 2 after the end of rice cooking by performing the rotation of the agitating rod and jetting of the air bubbles to enhance a cleaning effect. SOLUTION: This rice cleaner is constituted to agitate and clean the rice thrown down into the rice cleaning tank 2 by the agitating rod 19 disposed in this tank and the air bubbles jetted from the center in the lower part of the rice cleaning tank and to discharge the sewage after the cleaning by a drain valve. Air jetting means for rotating the agitating rod 19 and jetting the air bubbles is constituted in such a manner that this means can be set to be turned on and off by a switch of an operation controller disposed at the rice cleaner.
