PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidering machine capable of rapidly and easily selecting a desired pattern even when touch keys for selecting patterns displayed on a selection screen are small. SOLUTION: The embroidering machine stores therein sewing data of a plurality of patterns in advance, displays the displaying ranges of the patterns in an array on a displaying means, selects a desired pattern out of the displayed patterns by way of a selecting means, and forms the stitches of the pattern on a cloth. The selecting means additionally comprises transparent touch switches capable of detecting touched positions on the pattern displaying surface of the displaying means, pattern displaying touch keys 27a to 27m for selecting a desired pattern by touching the position of a transparent touch switch corresponding to the displaying range of the desired pattern, and four-way selection keys 21 to 24 for sequentially selecting in a desired direction adjacent pattern displaying range units displayed in an array on the displaying means.
