<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental plier capable of cleanly detaching the bracket bonded to a tooth surface in a moment without causing pain to a patient or damaging the tooth surface, and a method for detaching the bracket. SOLUTION: The dental plier 1 has a pair of jaw parts 4 and 4 extended from a pivotal mounting part 3 to be opposed to each other and opened and closed in connection with the opening-closing operation of grip parts 5 and 5. The leading ends of the jaw parts 4 and 4 are bent to a single side in a hook-like state. The hook-like bent parts are formed so that the edges thereof have wedge-shaped cross sections opposed to each other to constitute grasping parts 7 and 7 for grasping the support part 22 of the bracket 20 from above and below. When the grip parts 5 and 5 are lightly grasped, the bracket 20 is raised in a direction vertical to the tooth surface by the wedge effect due to the shapes of the grasping parts 7 and 7 and bending is also applied to a base part 21 at the same time. Therefore, the base part 21 itself is deformed to break the bonded part and the bracket 20 can be easily peeled from the tooth surface.</p> |
