PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively reducing the width of a thin metal plate by rolling. SOLUTION: After making a metal plate 10 of the initial width Wi into the width Wm by corrugating in the width direction, as necessary, the resultant plate is restrained on both sides on the inlet side with side guides 13 and is made into a metal plate of the width Wo by performing horizontal rolling with rolls 11 for horizontal rolling, thereby attaining the width reduction ofΔW.
