PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slitter 1 for wall covering material which prevents the entry of water, foreign matters or the like into the inside of a main body through the vicinity of an operation section in a cutting position adjustment mechanism 4 and which further prevents the displacement during a fixing process in positioning and fixing by the position adjustment mechanism. SOLUTION: A rotary cutter unit 10 for slit-cutting a side edge portion of the wall covering material in a conveying direction is fixed on a guide stay 2 by position adjustment means. The upper part of the guide stay 2 is covered with a waterproof cover 11 over a first direction corresponding to the width direction of the wall covering material. An operation section of the position adjustment mechanism has at least a part thereof externally exposed on a vertical face other than the upper portion covered with the waterproof cover. The position adjustment mechanism comprises an operation knob 5 for moving the rotary cutter unit in the first direction, a tightening screw mechanism 6 for releasably fixing a supporting mechanism of the rotary cutter unit on the guide stay by rotating the operation knob, and a spring means 16 mounted so as to impart resistance force against the displacement in the first direction.
