<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a feeling, repulsion performance and strength in hitting with a good balance. SOLUTION: This wood type golf club head 1 consists of a face member 12 having a clubface (F) for hitting a ball and a head body 13 for fastening this face member 12 and is formed to >=300 cm<3> in head volume. The face member 12 consists of anα+βtype titanium alloy and is formed by hot forging this alloy at a temperature below theβtransformation point and below 100 deg.C in the difference from thisβtransformation point, then cooling the same. At least a portion of a joint part (j) of the face member 12 and the head body 13 is parted at a distance of at least >=5 mm backward of the head from a peripheral edge E of the clubface F.</p> |
