PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the adhesion of an adhesive to the bottom surface of a plug by mechanizing coating work for coating the outer periphery of the side surface of the plug with the adhesive. SOLUTION: The automatic adhesive coating apparatus 10 for the plug 1 has a pad 42 (plug holding means), the coating ring 50 capable of being immersed in an adhesive small tray 22 and equipped with an inner hole 51 in which the outer periphery of the side surface of the plug 1 can be inserted and an air blower 70 for removing the excessive adhesive bonded to the coating ring 50. The plug 1 held by the pad 42 is inserted in the inner hole 51 of the coating ring 50 to which the adhesive adheres to coat the outer periphery of the side surface of the plug 1 with the adhesive.
