PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocally shifting mechanism of a spinning reel capable of miniaturizing a reel main body. SOLUTION: This reciprocally shifting mechanism 6 of the spinning reel is used for reciprocally shifting a spool by interlocking the spool with rotation of a rotor, wherein the mechanism has a screw shaft, a slider 22, an intermediate gear, a first guide shaft 24a, and a second guide shaft 24b. The screw shaft has spiral grooves which intersect each other on the outer periphery, and is supported on the reel main body so as to be freely rotatable. The slider has an engaging pin 26 which is engaged with the spiral grooves and an insertion openings 25e into which the engaging pin is inserted toward the spiral grooves in the radial direction of the spiral screw so that the engaging pin is freely rotatable, and is joined to a spool shaft 15. The intermediate gear transmits rotational force to the screw shaft. The first guide shaft and the second guide shaft guide the slider in the axial direction of the spool shaft. The first guide shaft is positioned on an area near to the outside and opposite to the spiral screw side of the engaging pin.
