PURPOSE: A method for monitoring fuel leakage in a vehicle is provided to precisely control the leakage of fuel by monitoring fuel leakage depending on driving conditions of the vehicle, such as a parking state and a driving state of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A control section detects whether a monitoring start condition is satisfied by receiving signals from a fuel level detecting sensor and a fuel temperature detecting sensor(S502). If the monitoring start condition is satisfied, the control section detects a vehicle speed by using a vehicle speed detecting sensor(S504). Then, the control section compares the detected vehicle speed with a predetermined vehicle speed. If the detected vehicle speed is identical to the predetermined vehicle speed, the control section calculates a vehicle speed correction coefficient(S506). If the vehicle speed is not matched with the predetermined vehicle speed, the control section calculates the vehicle speed correction coefficient corresponding to the detected vehicle speed(S514).
