PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for packaging a panel for cathode ray tube are provided to recycle pads and reduce manufacturing costs by using synthetic resin pads. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of stacked empty pads(2) are supplied from a pad supply station(10) to a pad alignment portion. A panel(4) is supplied from a panel supply station(90) to a panel alignment portion. A plurality of upper covers of the stacked empty pads of the pad alignment portion are stored temporarily. One empty pad is transferred to a loading station(62). The panel is loaded into one empty pad on the loading station by transferring the panel. The remaining empty pads are transferred to the loading station. The panels are loaded into the transferred empty pads. An upper cover(3) is loaded on the pads. The pads are discharged.
