PURPOSE: To save the inside space of a first material in a whirl-stop structure of a nut member for fixing the first material of a fishing reel to a second material. CONSTITUTION: This whirl-stop structure of the fishing reel is the structure for the nut member for fixing a rotor 3 of the fishing reel to a pinion gear 12. The hexagonal nut member 15 is screwed in front of the pinion gear 12. A retainer 16 for locking the nut member is installed to the nut member 15. A slip-off stopping member 17 for preventing the retainer 16 from separating from a front wall 3d is installed on the reverse surface of the installed surface. An engaging unit 18 formed by protruding a part of the front wall 3d is installed on the peripheral side of the retainer 16. The engaging unit 18 has a retainer engaging unit 18a for engaging the protruded part 16b of the retainer 16 and a slip-off stopping member engaging unit 18b for engaging the slip-off stopping member 17.
