The present invention relates to a device for exposing textile materials to gamma radiation when determining the radiation resistance of such materials, specifically when selecting materials for protecting clothes designed for workers at nuclear power plants and other like objects. The proposed device contains a testing chamber, which is filled with water, gamma radiation sources, which are arranged in staggered rows, and a movable container, which is installed within the irradiation area. Each radiation source is designed as a hollow metallic rod, which is filled with powder radioactive material. The container has several sections for placing material samples and provides a possibility to irradiate 3 ... 9 samples concurrently and uniformly. The container can be displaced in a vertical direction, and this feature provides a possibility to analyze the dependence of the physical and chemical properties of textile materials on radiation intensity.
