A process for production of iron-chromium catalyst includes the precipitation of the iron cations from sulfate of ferrous oxide, separation, washing, drying and frying of deposit, which is first mixedwith desalted water, filtered, washed, and then it is mixed with chromic anhydride, and the catalyst mass is fried. An installation for production of iron-chromium catalyst contains a consecutively connected reactor, two thickeners, a collector of condensed pulp, a pump, a pressure tank, first vacuum filter, a repulper, a pump, a pressure tank, second vacuum filter, a screw feeder, a drying apparatus and a drum for frying, a mixer-former, a drying apparatus and a furnace for frying. The installation additionally contains a consecutively connected bunker, second repulper, a pump, a collector of pulp, a pump and a filter press. The use of invention allows decreasing the content of sulfur in the catalyst, that allows increasing its activity.
