PURPOSE: An apparatus for upgrading a micro computer of a digital television is provided to automatically upgrade the micro computer by storing upgraded program in a RAM embedded in the micro computer, thereby reducing cost and time for the upgrade. CONSTITUTION: A first RAM stores upgraded ROM image of a micro computer(10) according to control of a central processing unit(20) when a digital television is in a power-on state. The central processing unit temporarily stops an operation of the micro computer when the digital television is turned on, stores the upgraded ROM image in a second RAM embedded in the micro computer, and then restarts the operation of the micro computer. The micro processor controls all kinds of hardware(30,40) by using the upgraded ROM image according to a restart command of the central processing unit.
