PURPOSE: A simple navigation controlling method using a mobile communication terminal and a device therefor are provided to set a destination only with a phone number not with a destination address or GPS(Global Position System) information, and to display only essential information using a current location and direction of a user. CONSTITUTION: A phone number of a destination is inputted using a keypad(20) of a mobile communication terminal. A server including a database in which each GPS information corresponding to phone numbers is stored automatically searches GPS information of the destination using the inputted destination phone number. The GPS information of the destination is downloaded through the mobile communication terminal. The downloaded GPS information of the destination is stored in a memory unit(22). Current position information of the mobile communication terminal is calculated utilizing a communicable mobile communication base station. A distance and a direction from the current position of the mobile communication terminal user to the destination are calculated using the GPS information of the destination and the current position information of the mobile communication terminal. And the distance and direction to the destination from the current position are displayed on a display part(25) of the mobile communication terminal using information on the calculated distance and direction.
