PURPOSE: A sealing body is provided to seal the high-pressure fluid efficiently against the surface pressure of fluid by manufacturing the reinforcing ring of high intensity knitted work or fabric wire. CONSTITUTION: A sealing apparatus is composed of a ring-shaped sealing body made of inorganic materials, and a reinforcing ring(2) integrally and axially formed in the end of the sealing body. The reinforcing ring is made of expansion graphite, and integrally formed at both ends of the sealing body. The reinforcing ring is composed of a wire body, and the wire body is formed by coating the outer peripheries of 100 or more pieces of metal fiber by two or more metal wires. The high-pressure fluid is sealed efficiently against high surface pressure of fluid with making the reinforcing ring of high intensity knitted work or fabric.
