PRODUCTION OF POLYTRIMETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE FIBER HAVING IMPROVED DYEABILITY

PURPOSE: A process of improving dyeability of polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber by instantly heat treating polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber at high temperature is provided which improves dyeability as compared to non-treatment and thus permits effective dyeing to be achieved at low temperature. CONSTITUTION: To dye polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber at lower temperature, it is subject to heat treatment at 180 to 200deg.C for 0.1 to 1.0sec. For an example, polytrimethylene terephthalate fiber articles are passed through a contact type heating apparatus at 180deg.C for 0.15 to 0.8sec and then dyed with a disperse dye(C.I. DISPERSE BLUE 79) at 25 to 95deg.C while elevating the temperate at a rate of 2deg.C/min.
